Female Gamers Represent!

There’s something about female gamers that drive the video gaming population – a sector of society that is predominantly populated by males – absolutely crazy.
Being female, of course, is the obvious reason.
But being a video game enthusiast, well, that’s the clincher.
Somehow, being a gamer makes a girl more attractive in the eyes of guys. After all, topics of conversation won’t be a problem between a guy and a girl who both enjoy video games. Dating ideas won’t be difficult to conceptualize as well. A fragging session of Killzone 2? An Ulduar raid in World of Warcraft? A rank farming run in Call of Duty 4, only because Call of Duty 5 sucks? Possible activities are limitless!
But most guys still believe that female gamers are stuff of legends. These guys think that female gamers don’t exist. A female in game name (IGN) will not catch the interest of a male gamer. He’ll just think that the IGN belongs to another guy who wants an outlet his feminine side.
But female gamers do exist, and because of all the naysayers and non-believers in the world of gaming, there is a pressing need for female gamers to stand up and represent themselves.
And one good way to tell the world that you are a female gamer is by owning a decidedly feminine gaming console.
Like a pink Playstation 2.
Granted that the Playstation 2 belongs to the previous generation of consoles, the system still controls 61% of the gaming market. In Japan, the Playstation 2 is still the fourth biggest selling non-portable console in the market, trailing the Xbox 360 by the slimmest of margins. With a library of more than 6,000 games, the PS2 is expected to remain a viable player in the video game market for at least 2 to 3 more years despite the presence of the newer generation of consoles.
The Playstation2 did so many things right.
And one of them is by releasing a pink colored unit for female gamers. It’s not really a new product. The pink PS2 was released way back in the holiday season of 2006. But it is one of the best selling color varieties of the said console. At this point in time, it will be very difficult to find such a unit. Even at eBay, a pink Playstation 2 commands a higher price than the $99 SRP Sony has pegged for its reliable gaming platform.
What makes a pink PS2 even more desirable?
Just the thought of playing God of War and God of War 2 with the man’s man Kratos – a chauvinistic pig if we may add – on a shiny pink gaming machine would be enough for some timeless enjoyment.
